Job Description

Health and Safety Advisor
 
The role Sirius Minerals is seeking health and safety advisors to work within the project management team of its multi-discipline engineering, procurement and construction Project. The role will be site based and support with the daily health and safety functions of our contractors.
 
Key responsibilities

  • Promote a positive health and safety culture in the working environment
  • Conduct and record regular risk assessments and inspections
  • Keep accident records
  • Carry out and record incident investigations
  • Be up to date, and ensure that contractors are supported to remain up to date, with health and safety legislation
  • Liaise with managers and provide recommendations on safety standards
  • Perform contractor audits
  • Control and issue site works permits. (WAH, confined space, hot works, etc.)
  • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards
 
Skills, experience and attributes
  • Hold a recognised health and safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH or equivalent • Proven track record within the health and safety industry
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Must have a flexible work approach
